Vox has the power to activate his left eye and brainwash/command the masses when they look at him. It's all part of television "rotting your brain", multiplied by a hundred. While I'm not in the ballpark of having him conquer any setting he's in (he's not gonna try and be the Big Bad in any games I put him in), I would like for him to make use of this power when he sees fit to do so. He won't use it willy-nilly, but if he needs information from someone or needs someone else to do his dirty work, he'll switch on those high beams.

Victims of this ability may enter a dream-like state as they perform tasks, and are not aware that they have been manipulated. If he uses this ability to command you forget you even talked to him, it's what it says on the tin: You've never met the guy!

...And for you dirty little birds out there, I don't see why he can't use a little hypnosis in the bedroom, or a softer version of his power to 'charm' and loosen inhibitions for perhaps more nervous partners. While mind control for sex isn't my thing, I -love- using it to coax a sex partner's wild side to come on out if you need an excuse for a broadly more chill character to suddenly be kind of a beast.

With all of this said, this is an OPT-IN post. That means I will not use this power unless I have consent from all parties involved. This isn't getting forced on you. We have fun here, m'kay? I will ALWAYS ask if it's alright.

But, if you just wanna drop me a comment here and say, "Hey, I'm alright with this," then it's in a easy-to-track place for me to keep tabs on. Consent can be removed later with no hard feelings, yadda yadda yadda, but even for those who give me broad permission, I'll still take a moment to ask.

Opting in for non-sexual plot purposes with any of mine, with the caveat that Tieve and Courtney would not ICly give consent or forgive him if it's used without consent, so that could be CR breaking if they ever find out. Loki would be pissed off but he'd get over it.

Also nota bene in Barcus' case, Solas has used blood magic to heal him once, and maintains what I understand to be a light foothold. There are no IC or OOC plans to use this rn but it could come into play if fucky plot stuff demands it.

As far as sexual stuff, if any of mine get close enough to him sleep with him they're probably up for whatever, but we can cross that bridge if CR goes that way. I have no OOC triggers here, cut loose.

Hi hello, I am 100% opting in for this with one caveat. The Medicine Seller should absolutely be susceptible to tv brain rot mind control given he's from a time before even radios were accessible. Only issue is Vox might end up biting off more than he can chew.

Medicine Seller's mind is either akin to a hive of bees or still water. There's either many thoughts happening all at once at high speed or absolutely nothing.

So Vox can certainly try to mess with Med Seller's mind, he just might end up in over his own head.

This mechanic is fun and has a lot of potential for interesting stuff. I would like to opt-in for all of my blorbos, with the following notes:

Skandranon Rashkae blackgryphon: Skan is susceptible to hypnotic and mental manipulation, but he is experienced at fending it off and so would not be a soft target for this. He has a natural resistance, as well as training to resist "mind-magic", but is not particularly powerful in that regard, and could be overpowered if necessary.

Olivine silkmind: No notes

Oxana unlight: She probably will be much squirrellier, but is in this regard mostly just a normal human, so... also no notes

Solas goethbeforethefall: Solas is a being of the mind and subconscious and I think that anyone trying to invade his mind or control him thereby would find the experience very similar to that of someone attempting to pick up a cobra with their bare hands. He is going to notice the attempt instantaneously and while he won't necessarily be immediately hostile, Solas has by both nature and history made it his business to be something of an apex predator when it comes to mental invasions. That said, I think it would be fun to play out some time.

Opt in for mine (Bel here, Ilphyl/spacetogrow, and Simon/thesunreturns). Simon is ask first because it will cause more drama than the normal 'will be pissed if they find out'.

Some notes: elves (including drow like Bel and Ilphyl) have some resistance to being charmed, which covers a lot of mind-control stuff in D&D. Up to you how well that works with Vox's ability.

Simon also has spent a lot of time under mind-control before, but usually the person doing it was manipulating his emotions in the 'you revere me like a god' sense, so he remembers what he did under mind control. (He's been entranced before; that was more disorienting.) While he has a pretty powerful 'resist enchantment' potion, it's also toxic unless he consumes the antidote within hours, so will not use it unless he is prepared for something to happen.

(Simon is definitely in the 'ask first' because he'll have a strong negative reaction, thanks to spending most of the 20th century being mind-controlled thanks to getting involved with the wrong person. It also means he has some experience of twisting mind-control commands to try to blunt them... I mean, he is a fae.)

Both of mine, (Demi here and Kion/makingitupashegoes) are both open for shenanigans. Demi has a little natural resistance so it might seem a bit difficult for the ability to get a grip on him at first, but Kion's got nothin' so oops?
